Meccanica del Sarca S.p.A. (MDS in brief) within the E.R.D.F. 2014-2020 operational programme sponsored by Provincia Autonoma di Trento, is performing two important projects:

AXIS 3: SUPPORT THE TRANSITION TOWARDS A LOW CARBON EMISSION ECONOMY

​

A) Energy saving by heat recovery from compressed air: this operation aims to recover the heat produced along with the compressed air, otherwise lost in the atmosphere as hot air, to transfer it to a heat-transfer (hot water);

​

B) Requalification of the air flow equipment in the wood production plant: the operation aims to reduce the energy consumption and adapt the air treatment equipment to the current technology. The restoration regards the regulation of the air amount extracted from the wood dust collectors, the air treatment to be reintroduced into the wood production plant and the distribution within the same plant.

NOTICE NR. 6 AID FOR THE PROMOTION OF THE RESEARCH IN THE RIS3 FIELD

​

Within the smart specialization strategy (RIS3) field, in line with the Mechatronic and the Energy & Environment directives, MDS led an ambitious and innovative research project aimed at the individualization of the defects in the walnut wood, thanks to the use of computerized tomography, the automatic classification of the defects and the optimization of the nesting, applying an algorithm guided by AI. This project was financed with E.R.D.F. (European Regional Development Fund) 6/2017 notice.
